Display settings problems

Hi,

I am hoping you can help me with my monitor. Today my son was playing Pacific Heros when our computer unexpectedly rebooted itself. When it came back on, the desktop icons were large and the colors were not right. I tried to adjust them with the display properties tab, but the only choice now available for colors is 16 and the size will not go above 800 x 640.
In addition to this, IE keeps shutting down, I'm getting a qttask error at rebooting and the screen is flickering!
I am running Windows 2000 Professional.

Hi Melanie..

It may be an idea to update your graphics card drivers. You will be able to download them by visiting the manafacturers website and matching up the version that matches your card.

Let me know if that helps or not :-)

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but how do I find out what type of graphic card driver I have?

Not a dumb question at all....

Please follow these instructions:

- Click Start -> Run -> type:
devmgmt.msc
- Click OK
- Expand Display Adpators and you should get some information there on the make/model

If you get stuck, report back and i'll try to help :-)

Found it & Fixed it! (Nivdia GeForce MX 100/200)
