OS: Win98
|
Hello,
i run a Win 98. I bought an Ipod and apprently it said my Computer needed Windows SP4,or Windows XP I downloaded Windows 2000 SP4 to update. Once that was finished, i opened the file and it said: WZKSP4_EN.EXE is missing NTDLL.DLL:NTShutdownsystem I clicked ok then it said: C:/Mydocuments/WZKSP4_EN.EXE A device attached to the system is not functioning. Ive tried downloading ActiveX (as i read in other sites) but its not useful... Does anyone know how to fix this problem or anything else to get around this? thanks |

OS: W2K, Ubuntu 8.04

fallen -
Do you mean you downloaded the W2K SP4 package and tried to install that to your PC that's running Windows 98?? Dude, you can't just plunk a package written for W2K into W98. First off, Windows 98 was written in the FAT32 file format. W2K is NTFS, a completely different file structure. Do you have a real true Win98 OS CD? Maybe you can do a repair. I honestly don't know. It took me about 1 minute to find this - http://www.98-drivers.com/ipod.html Claims to make W98 PC's work w/ iPod's. Don't know if it's legit. Win98SE had some USB support, if you've got Win98 it's probly time to upgrade the OS if not the whole PC. If I may make a suggestion, next time come to the forum and ask before trying something you're unsure of, O.K.? |
