Win NT ...Internet Explorer 5.5
I have a library with about 20 machines (NT). internet explorer is working but when someone logs off and another person logs on it comes up with "Page cannot be displayed". When i restart computer the internet works again. I've checked it's not the network connect and pinged the website it's trying to get and the pings are successful but internet explorer won't display them. I'm using a proxy server (Symantec Web Security) if that may be the problem. But it's seems to be only in the library (they are on the same build). we have over 100 more NT machines around the school which don't seem to have this problem.

That is kind of tough one to troubleshoot. Strange how you can ping the domain name. Are these computers part of domain? How are the proxy settings getting set on the machines. Are they pushed down thru a NT policy?
Just a quick question. Why are you still running NT and IE 5.5? |

Yeah these are part of a NT Domain. The proxy settings are being set using the login script (kix).
I've tried installing IE 6 but doesn't make a difference. |
