Hello can someone please help. I was infected by the trojan belt.exe, it got through my norton antivirus. I believe I had removed it by following advice from on line support groups. However I suspect I am still suffering from it. I have run the program hijack this, and the report is below if anyone can interpret or make any sense of the results. Would be most grateful to know if I am still suffering from any trojan.

Thanks jg for reply. I notice there is a comment about getting a firewall. I believed I did have a suitable firewall. I have a Netgear dg824 Broadband router, switch and modem which has an intergrated firewall. It is set to block any inbound service and allow any outbound service. I believed this was sufficient, am I wrong do you think?

I removed my zonealarm firewall as it conficted with the Netgear gateway internal firewall.

Because your hardware firewall allows outgoing connections, your computer would still be vulnerable to trojans, since they operate from the inside out. If you really want to be protected against that kind of stuff, download a good software firewall that can tell you which programs are attempting to make connections

I would contact Netgear and ask them which software firewalls are known to work with your product.

I thing that Zonealarm is one of them, and it might have been a configuration issue.

Hardware firewalls are great!, but using software firewalls and software defenses against the naughty Trojan is great, too.

Get several lines of defense going; the times aren't getting any easier on the net.
