A question
First of all, I wasn't sure in which section to place this, as it concerns operating systems and file systems and hardware, so I stuck in it here.
I have this computer, running Windows ME, on a FAT32 drive, working fine. I have another hard drive with Windows XP installed. This second drive is partitioned into an NTFS drive and a FAT32 drive. This drive has become unbootable and is all screwed up. The FAT32 partition was intended as backup and contains whatever I should need to recover my Windows XP, but I can't seem to access anything on it. Could I install this second drive into this computer and manipulate the files that way? Can I use an NTFS drive from my current Windows ME setup? Any help would be much appreciated. |

Windows versions below win2k can't read NTFS files from harddisks, unless there are some programs to do it, not that i know of any, just a guess. Are both drives in the same computer, or was the XP drive taken from another PC?
The best help i can think of for getting the files from the harddisk, is to take it to a friends PC that is running XP or 2K and copy the files you want to save onto disk or something. |
