prelnstTT.exe
Hello, dont know to much about computers, but I do think that what happened here wasnt right, and maybe someone might be able to tell me what it is?
I was on the internet when I got a message asking me to insert a CAB File. I hit Cancel, then a message box containing the following appeared: "Insert Disk The file 'prelnstTT.exe' on CAB File cannot be found. Insert CAB File in the selected drive, and click OK. Copy files from: C:\WINDOWS\TEMP " Then I clicked on details and got a message which said: "Error Details The following error occurred: 'No more files' (error #12). Setup could not finish opening a file on the source disk. Source file: 'C:\WINDOWS\TEMP\prelnstTT.exe' Destination File: 'C:\WINDOWS\prelnstTT.exe=prelnstTT.exe' " Was someone or something trying to install some kind of program on my machine maybe? I hope someone can help me out as to what this was, thank you!

Davekdk,
I don't have a clue what could have caused your problem, but if I were you I'd run a anti-virus program and check my hard drives completely. If you've already done this (I mean a COMPLETE scan) and it didn't find any viruses I just forget about it. If you don't have a virus scan program McAfee has a couple of freebies on there web site that you download. The files names are "BootScan" & "ScanPM", but they are enclosed in Zip files named "Emscan.zip" & "DailyScan.zip" and these two zip files are what you want to download. Instructions are contained in the "Zip" files. Click on the following link if you need these files. www.mcafeeb2b.com/naicommon/avert/avert-research-center/tools.asp :ufo: twas :ufo: PS - Aunt Flo sends her love.

Just to be on the safe side I think I would delete the contents in that Temp folder as well. There should be nothing important in there anyway. You can to into Windows/Temp and manually delete every file in the folder or just delete the whole Temp folder and just create another afterward.
But by the looks of what you posted some of whatever that was is still on your hard drive. I wouldn't allow it the chance to finish whatever it was trying to do. |
