What type of sound file is it? Are you trying to access this over the Internet? Have you tried other sound files on this network? If you have tried other sound files, do they work? Have you played CD's and/or music files of your hard drive using Media Player? If so do these CD's and/or music files work correctly?
I am asking these questions because I need to know if the problem is actually with your system's Media Player or a problem with the network. If Media Player is playing CD's or music files correctly then I wouldn't think the problem is with Media Player. Unless of course the music file you are trying to access is an offbeat music file and Media Player was not granted access to play that file. |

My latest problem has been trying to hear music clips at BMG music club.
Yes, over the internet. I also have Real Player and it works fine. No, my cd's won't play using Media Player either. I have to use Real player when I listen to cd's. Thanks for asking. |

Ok I think I found a solution to your Media Player/Internet issue here. You should be able to resolve your issue by the following quoted instructions from Microsoft:

Beware Windows Media Player Updates!!
Sorry to digress, but I've registered and still cannot find a way to post a new question, so here goes -- maybe this is something else you've noticed with your media player software:
Since I downloaded the latest update to media player 10, all my playlists are scrambled. I put a lot of effort into compiling playlists from vinyl, tapes and CDs to play in the car, etc. Now they're all scrambled -- I don't know which songs go where in the list!! I NEVER will download another Windows update... If you can direct me to a new discussion thread, I would thank you very much, and I apologize again for this intrusion. But I cannot find another way... Matt8205 |
