when installing 98se....
what type of partition am i supposed to make?logical,primary dos etc...or what?it is formatted as ntfs as of right now and i am planning installing xp on a serperate partition later.i am a complete newbie.

Windows 98 does not support NTFS.
If you wish to make a multi-boot Win98 / WinXP then load the Win98 in the first partition (Primary Dos partition) then load your XP in the second partition. If you load XP into an NTFS partition then the XP will be able to see Win 98 but the Win98 will not see the NTFS.
