extranel hard drives
I am thinking about using an external hard drive to increas the memory on my computer. Can some tell me if it would be a good idea if i wanted to increase my RAM too and if they have any problems i should know about. If possable can someone give me the average price and about how much memory it would have.

hard drive is not ram
adding an extra hard disk wont help with a ram problem. i would suggest adding ram, if ram is what you want. ~BoB~

You need to specify the specific type of RAM your system uses to find a price.
As far as external hard disks, if you're thinking of something like USB 2.0 drives does your computer have a USB 2.0 port? They work with USB 1.1 ports, but they're pretty slow. You can install a USB 2.0 port in your machine, about $20 for the board. The USB 2.0 external case will cost you $30-40, and you can put any size IDE drive in it, shop for a bargain. :)
