Repartition and IE questions
OK, so about a month ago I heard about some Internet Explorer KB(some numbers) and Q(some letters and numbers), that could be used as a virus. Othertimes it isnt. So, I updated the software from Microsoft.com and it worked fine. Shut my computer off, and slept for the night. Woke up and started my computer, it loaded OK, but went blank after the Windows ME splash screen, even though I could hear the computer still loading. Rebooted, did the same time and time again. I could get to Safe mode, but couldnt do anything there so I shut it off and went to work.
Had same problem still that night, so I used my Maxtor Repartition CD and repartitioned. Didnt have a Windows ME disk for a few weeks,, well, until now. So, earlier I installed Windows ME fine and dandy. Installed internet so I could update Windows and get the computer up and running again. Windows Updater told me to update the KB and Q thing again, so I did.. Rebooted, and viola.. Comp's dead again. So, lengthy story told, any suggestions? I've lost the repartition CD so hopefully there's a way around this without it. I've tried Restoring it now as well, it says its it "cannot". Any help will be greatly appreciated, thanks! |
