HP system format and recovery

ummm... does anyone know if running a system format and recovery is bad for the computer in any way?

Actually it's good for the computer. But make sure you backup all your important data.

hey thanks a lot SPEEDO, u rock man! i got another problem: i wanna run the system recovery because i installed windows 2000 as a seperate os instead of upgrading win. ME and so i cant use all the programs that came with ME while on 2000. so to get rid of 2000 can i run the system recovery or does that not get rid of operating systems? if i upgrade ME to 2000 will that get rid of any programs i had in ME?
