Setting up dual boot two win98se, as precaution

I have clean formatted reinstall my C: drive twice in one day and loads of software. I did not stop from morning till 2am. a complete *******.

Wondering about a dual boot to guarantee my computer for serious use and just have a few programs I need. And on the other boot relax and loads anything I want.

I have done some searches and wonder if anyone could give me some tips how to set up dual boot, as I am just beginning to get my head around the idea. Is this even a good idea?

You want to make 2 Partitions, one for each OS. Divide the HD in half and set it up like that. Then you can pop in the 98se disk and tell it which partition to load off of, do that with the other partition and your set.

Hi mistabigshot thanks for that. The penny as not totally dropped regarding dual booting. At the moment I have 160gig hd partitioned into a C: D: E: F: drives, I keep my data on Docs folder on D:

I have Paragon Boot manager software, which has given me the multiple boot option when I start my computer, that I can turn on or off when I get into windows again.

I can't really understand the rather scant instructions for this boot manager. When and how do I install the new windows? Do I just install it as normal with no multi boot set up and then chose drive E: or F: to install windows or will that bugger up my existing windows.

Or do I boot to some empty space first though the boot manager software and then install?
Cheers.
