Pin win98 explorer. re-install to solve error

I'm getting this error and then all input devices freeze up (mouse, keyboard), but only in one of the two profiles on my HP computer: run-time error 424 object required . This happens at exactly the same time each time I log into my profile. I am thinking that if I reload Windows Explorer it might solve the problem. Would that do it, and how would I do it from the Win98 CD?

I think I would try creating a third profile first. Copy everything from the profile that is giving you problems to the new profile. Then delete the buggy profile when finished.

If that does not work then I would make a backup of everything on your hard drive if you haven't already and reformat/reload your hard drive. You said you have an HP, did HP give you a recovery CD or an actual Win98 CD? If HP gave you a Win98 CD then there are other things we can try.
