No Sound from MIDI files on a older computer
Ok, so I'm fixing up an old comptuer of mine for a friend who needs one.
Everything works fine but one small detail, No sound from MIDI files will load, any other file works fine and I can't seem to fix the problem. Here's 2 images of the tabs in the multimedia (If it helps) http://img140.imageshack.us/my.php?i...perties5xr.png http://img134.imageshack.us/my.php?i...udiotab8nu.png Edit: It Also Says this message "Midi Error on File somemid.mid:MMSYSTEM066. There are no Instruments Defined for MIDI mapper. Use the Midi Tab in "Multimedia properties" to set them" If the answer is by setting some sort of Midi Mapper up, how do i do that? I see in one of those screen shots that you have the roland mpu 401 set for midi output.
This is a pci card for connecting to external midi (Musical Instrument Digital Interface) devices like say a moog keyboard. http://www.borg.com/~jglatt/tech/mpu.htm If you are trying to use it , you have to configure it for the particular instrument you are using. If not (or if you have removed it) you should change this to microsoft wave table syntheziser
