"Open File With" changes

Is it possible to change how a file gets opened? I chose to open some .dat files with msdos prompt but want to change it to wordpad.

First highlight the file with a single left click
Then hold down Shift and right click on the file. Here you can chose what you want to open it with. Make sure if you are only using it for one time to uncheck "Always use this program to open this type of file" or all of those file types will now open with the program you chose.
