My Cmos battery is dead. How do I bypass it. I don't want to use the clock anymore. Thanks

There is no way to bypass the battery and the battery does more than keep the clock running it also keeps all your system settings. They are not expencive. Battery # DL2032, CL2032.

You do indeed need the CMOS battery. The CMOS is used to store basic information about the PC's configuration: number and type of hard and floppy drives, how much memory, what kind of memory and so on. You possibly cannot go without it
