online but not connected

i have a windows ME, and i can get online but im not connecting to the internet. can someone help me with this problem thanks in advance!!!

We'll need more info to troubleshoot this one:

Online but not connected? What do you mean?

Do you use dial-up or Cable/DSL?

Are you on a network (multiple pc's sharing a single cable/dsl connection)?

What antivirus software is on this machine?

Is it up to date?

there is no internet connection at all.
it's a Cable/DSL
i have an xp and windows ME and 2 cable modem/DSL
AVG and adware-se personal
yeah it's up to date
my xp wasn't working but i went to repair the connections and it started back working and i'm just wondering do i have to do the same for windows ME.

First check ALL the cables........then try repair connection
