Copying or downloading files onto a CD...Access Denied

When I try to copy or download a file from the Desktop onto a CD, a pop-window states:

Cannot create or replace "file.fileextension": Access is denied.

Make sure the disk is not full or write-protected and that the file is currently not in use.

I made sure the file was NOT open, and the disk is certainly not full.

I took the CD and tried copying a file onto the CD on my laptop and everything worked fine, so it must be the computer I'm using. Operating system is Windows ME.

I think it could be a security setting on the computer regarding files.

Any ideas on what's wrong here?

Did you burn anything else on this CD

wait,............ no drag and drop burning in ME so you need some burning software here

Try right clicking the file and then click properties then check the archive box and uncheck the read only box.

what format is your burner in your desktop, CD-RW, CD+RW, what I'm getting at is if you burner is a CD-RW it will not write on a CD+R disc, if you burner is a CD+/- RW it should work on -R or +R disc's, hope this helps.
