hi everyone.
Few days ago I finished building my new PC. After I installed windows 98 and run it I got the following massage: Display You display adapter conflicts with another device in your computer. To correct the problem, click OK to view the properties for the device. Well I viewed the properties and found out that the display adapter conflicts with the following devices: Memory Range 00000000-03FFFFF used by PCI Bridge Memory Range 00000000-03FFFFF used by System board extension for ACPI BIOS Memory Range 00000000-07FFFFF used by PCI Bridge Memory Range 00000000-07FFFFF used by System board extension for ACPI BIOS Memory Range 00000000-00FFFFF used by PCI Bridge Memory Range 00000000-00FFFFF used by System board extension for ACPI BIOS Memory Range 00000000-001FFFF used by System board extension for ACPI BIOS I though at first that maybe I connected something wrong when I built my PC since I am a rookie at this, but everything seems to be ok... I also tryed to move the graphic card into another slot but that didn't helped :( Please help Thnx in advance. |

Can you provide the following - it will help us with your issue:
Motherboard Make/Model RAM (Type, Size, # sticks installed) Video Card Make/Model This should be a good start. Right now I am leaning towards the need to install the latest chipset/motherboard drivers.

First thing I would do is boot to bios setup and make sure you have Plug and Play OS selected (Where the OS assigns resources rather than you having to manually configure everythign)
Then boot to safe mode, go to device manager and starting at the bottom, select each and every entry one at a time and choose delete (or remove) . When you have removed everything (save keyboard and mouse for last) reboot the PC and let it detect devices and reinstall them and assign resources. |

Motherboard Make/Model: DFI LANPARTY UT nF4 Ultra-D
RAM (Type, Size, # sticks installed): GeIL 1GB 2*512MB Value PC3200 DDR400 Dual Channel Video Card Make/Model: Leadtek WinFast PX6600 GT Extreme PCIe GeForce 6600GT SLI 128MB I didn't try to install the latest chipest drivers. How do I do that? And to oshwyn5 I checked in the BIOS and Plug and Play is selected. I also tryed to do the second thing you told me. I removed the devices and windows detected and installed them all over again and nothing changed. I get the same massage. Thanks for the help all. |
