VFAT Error

I installed an HP 6840 printer on my Windows 98 PC and now I get a VFAT error when I start up. Can anyone help?

I seriously need someone who knows what they're talking about though. Please don't just link me some place. I've already gone through all the solutions on the Microsoft page and none of those solve the problem.

Thank you

Uninstall the printer drivers. You should be able to do this in safe mode. Another option is to reboot in MS-DOS mode and run sfc /scannow.

I've done both of those (Although I ran sfc in Safe Mode, if that makes a difference). Any more ideas?

I would try a repair install of Win98. Make a folder on c: called win98, and copy the files from the win98 folder on your 98 cd into it. Boot into MS-DOS mode, and run setup from this folder.

You'll keep your data, and your apps (although some may not like it). After this, do the Windows Updates.
