I removed my 3-1/2" floppy drive from my tower (put something else there), and installed an external floppy drive (letter H or something).
How can I reconfigure BIOS so that on startup it looks for the external floppy instead of the missing one?

Is the external drive USB? If so, you will not be able to use that drive until after the BIOS loads since at that point USB drivers have still not been loaded.
