had sound now none error C00D11BA
No files have been deleated or moved on the computer, but when I want to used windows media player there is no sound and the error C00D11BA comes up which is saying that the computer has no sound card, but I am quite sure there is one. I am not the most technologically up to date person when it comes to computer terms but i am able to follow instructions if they are written in a user friendly way any help or comments would be appreciated on the matter.. Thanks

There's a whole lot of problems which can cause that error message: your audio drivers may be missing or damaged, another program may have grabbed your audio hardware when you are running media player, the version of DirectX used by the media player may be incompatible with your audio drivers, etc. Probably the easiest way to figure out what's going on is to get your DXDiag report:
1) Click "Start" 2) Click "Run" 3) Type in dxdiag. 4) Click "OK". 5) Click "Save All Information". 6) Save the dxdiag.txt file to your desktop. 7) Include the dxdiag.txt file as an attachment to your next post. That report will give lots of information on the state of your audio system. While you are in DXDiag you can also select a "Sound" tab and then click "Test DirectSound" so DXDiag can run some basic tests on your sound hardware and drivers to make sure everything is working properly. |

There are no sound drivers installed. If you're sure you have sound hardware (for example because you've got speakers connected to the computer) then you'll need to install its driver before Windows can play any sounds. What kind of computer do you have? The DXDiag says it's an AOpen but there's not much other info. What is its model number?
