Often halted when using IE

My 98SE recently halted frequently when I was using IE.
Is there anything I can do about it?

What do you mean by being "hijacked"?

Yet I am using double firewall (software+hardware)

My System

When you say 'halted frequently' do you mean it pauses for a few seconds or completely crashes? Try cleaning out the IE cache if it's pausing for short periods. And check your hard drive's fragmentation level.

Are you using any antivirus/spyware software?
