removing user

I just acquired a new (to me) NEC VersaVXi laptop with Windows 98se. I do not have any of the software disks and I want remove the previous owners user account but I'm afraid to even log off that user since I don't have the password. How can I get rid of them and set it up for me?

My System

When 98 asks for a user name and password, just give it a new username. That's all there is to it. Then you can customize the desktop and what-not.
