laptop monitor problems

Hello all,
I recently upgraded an old Dell Latitude CP from windows 95 to windows 98 se. The installation of the op system was fine with one exception - I lost a great deal of viewable monitor space. The desktop is boxed into a space within the active monitor. I went into the monitor settings and I cannot change the screen area over 640 x 480 pixels, and I'm stuck on 16 colors. What can I do to expand the screen space to cover the total area of the monitor? Please assist, thanks!

Welcome to the forums falxwon

Try downloading the video driver and see if it works out for you. Do you know what video card is in there? This driver download is for the Dell Latitude CP but they could have used more than one video card in their laptops.

OK - I've downloaded both drivers, now what should I do? The laptop recognizes a 'default monitor' - should I try to update the driver, or choose a new one from the list?
please assist - all the best,

Double click on the file 107ea04 and run setup.

Not having much laptop experience myself I have no idea what the monitor should be, But install the driver and see where that gets you.....:D
