hard drive partition

Can I change the sizes of my partitioned hard drive? ie can I make one bigger and one smaller? Will it affect anything else on my computer such as programs?

Thank you for any help you can give!

Powerquest Partition Magic is the silver bullet for doing this task. You can't do it without 3rd party software, Windows doesn't have the capability to change partition sizes.

Alternatively, you could try FIPS. It is a freeware "program for non-destructive splitting of harddisk partitions". I have used it many times and found it's easy operation fantastic!

Another vote for Partition Magic, Iv used to to resize and merge and resize again. So far it hasn't caused any data corruption and its worked without error every-time. :)

Iv also used FIPS back aways, it more complex than Partition Magic and lacks the GUI and only works to split it will not merge or anything else that partition magic does. Of the multiple times Iv used it it has managed to hose my whole partition on at least 2 occasions, the other times it worked great.
