Do you mean eventhough you use the recovery disk and reinstall everything you cannot still open your Windows? Is that what you mean? please clarify.

It could be a problem with the master boot record [/unsure]
Try turning the computer on with a boot disk in the floppy drive
When the A:\ prompt finally loads type fdisk /mbr and hit enter

Is the HD still being detected by the systems BIOS prior to loading, make sure there are no floppys in the drive.

This is just a simple white text on black background error correct or is it a bluescreen error?

Also what version of Windows are you running?
