Hi Guys,
I have just reinstalled Windows 98 SE windows is working but I cannot get my modem to talk to the computer. It looks like its installed but when I try to dial out I get various error messages one of them was 630. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks |

your device manager probably shows a conflict
did you reinstall 98se with the modem installed? i have better luck with modems/ethernet cards leaving them out until the operating sys is up and running. uninstall it from your device manager, turn it off, , uninstall the card, turn the computer on, make sure it doesnt show in the manager, turn it off and reinstall the modem. wait for windows to find the "unknown device" and see if you can feed the floppy driver to it. sometimes you have to discect the floppy to prompt the modem to install. post back Last edited by whodat; 07-06-2005 at 06:32 AM. |
