Shortcuts not working after AIM upgrade

After upgrading to AIM 5.9 all the shortcuts on my computer stopped working. All the shortcut icons are the same, generic file icon, and they no longer work. I uninstalled AIM, but then everytime I clicked on a shortcut I recieved an error message "AIM_XMPL.dll" not found.

Anyone have any thoughts?

aim=viruses/spyware
do the links below including spybot with its upgrade
run cleanup also
if you still have troubles post a hyjack log in the hyjack section
