Compatiliblity mode problems

I just got a new CPU... But still windows 98 with intel celeron... Everything was fine until I checked the system properties. It is in compatiliblity mode!!! (even if I boot in normal mode) please help me!!! Oh, and another thing, my D:\ and A:\ won't work! And 1 more note... When I installed DirectX 9.0c. IT cannot work as well. I checked using dxdiag and found out the directx version (I think) was the graphic card driver version!

Regarding your DirectX 9 problem: for DirectX 9 to work you must have a display driver installed which supports DirectX 9. Try installing the latest display driver for your display adapter (instructions here).

Well... You could include the dxdiag information in your next post. Just run dxdiag and click the "Save All Information" button. Then include the text file it generates in your next post as an attachment. That should show what's going on.

Well. Looks like dxdiag is out-of-date (I think). so it might the reason to not downloading a newer version of directx. Just to know... I use a Intel Graphics Controller 810E (have the chipset as well).

Another note. It looks like the processor for the dxdiag is also wrong. Guess dxdiag is corrupted...

The reason that DirectX 9 won't work is because your display driver is too old to support DirectX 9. This is the newest driver which Intel has but it looks like this is the one you already have installed. If the one from Intel won't work then there's nothing you can do to get DirectX 9 support. DirectX 9 support requires a display driver which is new enough to support its features and Intel no longer supports your chipset (Intel 810E).

Intel isn't going to make any updates to the 810 as you can see here. All you can do is run DirectX 8. It's not going to support higher versions of DirectX than that. If you want to run things which require DirectX 9 then you're going to need a new video card or a new computer.
