online virus scan

Any one recomend a site that has a virus scanner?
Girlfriend was on the comp for @ 14 straight hours when I found her fingers glued to the keyboard, at some casino site. Peering at the auto hide taskbar, I discover how many casino sites she had been redirected to. (or whatever the cases may have been. So I look into the trusty msinfo32.exe via the start button, and "searching for missing shortcut" pops up. GONE. iexplore, GONE
acroreader32.exe (spelling) GONE. This laptop, A 1 GIG Pentium 1 (100MGZ) processor (came stock with Win95, but running 98)is like a member of the family for me.It has taught me what little I do know. I had been able to isolate 2 cases of backdoors that I had picked up over the years only because I had the sysinfo areas burned into my head from years of starring.
