Confused Reassign LPT port to COM1 or COM2

Hi

I've just joined the forum as I have a question realting to an application that only uses COM1 or COM2. I have a laptop that is running Win 95. I have installed an application that allows you to configure to use COM1 or COM2 as its interface device. Now the hardwarde that is supplied is a RS-232 25 pin plug and therefore will not fit into the COM1 or COM2 ports. Only the LPT port !

I thererfore would like to know if it is possible to reassign the port from LPT1 to COM1 or COM2 please ?

Any help with this much apreciated !

Thanks

25 Pin to 9 pin adapter is what you need if it is truly needing the com1 or com2..
