windows (98) on my computer was shut down while loading. when i restarted, it did it in safe mode. a message came up asking if i wanted to save something so i clicked yes.
now every time i start windows, the screen is grey (like opening in safe mode). how do i restore the colors?? i was told to reinstall the video card, is that correct? how is that done? i cannot run system restore because i dont have any recovery disks. could this be a problem in the "settings" tab in the Display Properties? thanks for your help

Well in the "Settings" tab - what options for resolution and colour depts do you have ? If you dont have the "normal" option its probably necessary to reinstall the graphic drivers.
Do you know what graphic adapter is in your PC ? If not then post the name/ model/ number of your PC if its a premanufactured model (i.e. Dell Insipron 1300) or download a program called Everest Home Edition to let it create a summary of your system including the graphic adapter so we can point you to the right drivers.
