Hello, Here a problem first I am wondering what does the Backweb program do in my win98 system.

reason I am wondering is I have notice that when I am trying to get on line that I notice that the hour glass appears to be trying to run a second program while I am trying to get online with my server, does that make sence. hencefore the system tell me I can found the server, pop3 errors pop up or system comes up them drops me off line, even though all the setup are correct and defaulted to my sever. I have also noted the same on my folk computer except it is far worse and he uses win ME which we are constantly battling to keep him setup so he and stay on line. Both system have be check for virus, none are indicated. Got any bright Ideas. Is there a way to check to see if two programs are bumping heads?

So with that said, your computer say its a HP is set to chcek your hardware for updates when connecting to the interent. HP puts this on your system. In a sense it is adware but in a "good way".

If you want, use these programs to check your system for adware/spyware

Download / Install / Update / and Run:
Adaware SE check for any updates before running it.
Get the plug-in for fixing VX2 variants. You can download it at this SITE
To run this tool, install to the hard drive, then open Ad-aware->Add-ons and select VX2 Cleaner. Then click Run Tool and OK to start it. If it's clean, it will say Status System Clean. Otherwise, you will have to click on the Clean button to remove the VX2 infection.

Download and install Spybot S&D . Run Spybot and click on the 'Search for Updates' button. Install any updates that are available. Next click on the 'Check for Problems' button. Let it run the scan. If it finds something, check all those in RED and hit the Fix Selected Problems button. Exit Spybot. If you keep getting the DSO Exploit entries, even after you updated Windows and fixed them, then download the Spybot DSO Exploit Fix and install it over the current Spybot installation.
