belkin 4 port usb install prob

hey all, i nstalled a belkin 4port usb adapter. when i rebooted it hung up on add new hardware box. went into safe mode and under syt prop/device's it shows the belkin hub. so i disabled it and every thing is ok again. after i log onto my system and check the sys prop/device's the hub is not even listed ? i have a ethernet 100tx adapter in 1 slot and a soundblaster card in the the other.any way to tell if my system can handle the usb hub ? thanks a lot (the reason i went into medicine)

Try removing it via Device Manager and rebooting to see if it reconizes it again.

You installed a USB adapter card to connect your USB hub is this correct?

As long as you have enough open pci slots you can add new hardware. And as long as you are not having IRQ conflicts it should work.
