supervisor password required
how can i "do away with" the requirement of supervisor password required under content in internet properties? Thanks

because until just the other day there was no requirement for this supervisor password and now there is..and since i am the only one using this computer at the moment i see no need for it..i am stumped at how it all of a sudden is now required when previously it was not...although my daughter did have access to the computer a few days ago.

Browse to: hkey_local_machine\software\microsoft\windows\current version\policies\ratings In the right panel you'll see a value called 'key', delete it and go to the content advisor options, it'll ask you for a new password, just leave it blank. If you are trying to bypass a restriction imposed by someone else, they'll catch you.

Go into the control panel/user accounts and where it says 'pick a task' click 'change the way users log on and off'. Then tick the 'use the welcome screen' and this will stop you having to use passwords. You have to have administrators rights for this. [This applies to XP, sorry I just noticed your OS, it could be similar for yours tho']

please let me assure you that i am not trying to bypass anyone else's restrictions and this is my computer, i am just a loss as to why this just recently started showing up. i would never do anything "illegal" or otherwise..thanks for your help
