Lost Audio
I reloaded win 98SE trying to get the bugs out and as a last resort to get windows to load in safemode (my previous post). Reinstall went smooth enough, but now I have lost my audio capabilities almost entirerly. Media player 7.1 runs without any sound (yes I tried reloading it) I don't get any music when I bootup or any alerts when e-mail arrives. Most games are silent with the exception of a few. I need to reset the audio defaults if possible. I can find no conflicts in the device manager and I think the sound card is built on the motherboard(810 chipset).Settings in the control panel are set to use any available device. Any ideas? It is getting near time to get out the 357 and give it some lead poisoning.

hi,
first off what mobo are u running, a name and spec would be helpfull, if not just a name........ innt that 810 the intel graphics adapter??? (cant remeber) Dz *edit* .357 lead poisoning is not recomended by the Tech support department as a possible conflict resoulotion, in fact they belive it may cause more problems than it would solve. *edit*

The fact that you have inbuilt sound is irrelevant. You must load the drivers for the sound and video (which I presume is built in also. You should have the disc for your motherboard which will have the drivers on, failing that , providing you know what drivers you need, you can download them from www.driverguide.com or a similar site.
Good Luck................dave |
