Windows ME Boot Disk
I have used Windows ME for years, but have never made a boot floppy—choosing instead to rely on backups. Recently I tried to make a boot disk using add/remove programs—startup disk—create disk and it wouldn’t create the disk. It refers me to the installation disk to retrieve the files but they aren’t there. I searched all the cab files and did a disk search for some of the referenced files that it couldn’t find, but they are not on the disk. I also searched the hard drive for them, but they aren't there either. The disk is a full Microsoft install. What is the problem??
As an alternative, I tried to find a downloadable startup disk for Windows ME in Google, but it doesn’t seem to be a cut and dried thing, and I didn’t find anything that seemed “right”. It seems to me that something like this would be widely available. Help please. Stuart Culp |
