I need a good reg cleaner, are these good? what else should I get?
Hi,I am running win 98 2 nd edt,I have the new AVG and spybot, what should I add? I would like to get free versions. Could you tell me what the ones you suggest do?

Can't see cccleaner, site used all its bandwidth. Cleanup looks ok if your interested in a basic unit. From what I read you can do most of that without to much trouble, it would just make it easier. If you are looking for something more, like ability to fix actual reg items I use Registry First Aid This is free to try and $21 to get full control. It has worked well for me. Check it out and see if this is what you are looking for. Remember to back up registry before you use any regedit tool.

I use CCleaner for my registry cleanup. I recommend that with any registry cleaning utility, you use caution in deleting entries. Only kill off stuff you know to be bad, the few entries that you don't recognize may be important. Most people go through their lives with no registry cleanup, and they manage to run for years.
