TCP/IP error every 5 mins i get this error

Dear friends any one help out wht is the cause of below details.

From last two days i am having problems with 5 windows 98 machines.
every 5 mins it prompts me an error while downloading the emails,
TCP/IP Protocol error couldnot connect to server and cant surf internet too,what i need to do is ipconfig /release_All and renew_all to make it work.

I even unistalled and reinstalled back the drivers no use,
Installed a new networkcard on one machine same prblm,
Assgined static ipaddress to machines after 1 hr system hangs up.

Please Help me asap.

sounds more like an issue on the server\router side or possible a hub. you may need to recofigure/replace the device that hosts the dhcp server.

if all clients are experiencing the same problem this it is not a nic or anything on the computer.
