Error - Printer Spooler Service is not running

Upon attempting to install a Lexmark V730 printer using the printer software cd or via 'Add a Printer' in Printers and Faxes, I receive this error. Please advise how to turn this feature back on.

The Lexmark US website doesn't show any printer with the model # V730. There was an older "JetPrinter" model from several years ago, the "Z 730" - is this the model you have? If so, there don't seem to be any Win9x/Me drivers available for that line, only Win2000/XP/Vista.

Are you certain of the model # & the compatibility of your drivers?

P.S. ... if your printer is indeed the Z730, while Lexmark no longer provides Win9x/Me drivers directly from their website - if Win9x/Me drivers were originally available from Lexmark (years ago) such drivers might be available from driver sites (such as driversguide.com) - where the older drivers for older printers can still be found.
