Post Need help... Can not start or shut down .. NEED HELP ASAP!

Hey

Ok. I have a major problem.
When ever I start my Laptop I get the following messages ::
- Cannot import C:\WINDOWS\TEMP.\kill.reg. This is not registry script. Can only import registry files
- Csrss has caused an error in KERNEL32.dll, Csrss will close now. (this message appears 3 times)
-Restrictions. This operation has been cancelled due to the restrictions on this computer. Please contact your administrator.

Well I am the only person that uses my laptop and there is only one account.

Also, I can not SHUT OFF my OS. I got to Start > Shut Off and nothing happens. The screen will darken like usual then go bright again and nothing shuts down. I can not shut off my OS through Ctrl + Alt + Del. I can only turn my computer off manually (which is not good)

I am using windows Me. I do not have any viruses, just scanned yestarday. No spyware or ad-aware. This problem has only started happening today, in the last 10 minutes.

If someone can please help me ASAP. This would be great because I need to use my laptop tomorrow for school.

csrss can be hijacked by netsky and webus and ladex and some other viruses. i suggest downloading and running mcafee's stinger software

http://vil.nai.com/vil/stinger/

Just like anti-spyware programs, i've found that not all antivirus programs detect all viruses.

as for the kill.reg, the only thing i found on that is that it disables windows firewall.

Re:

Hey,

mm. ok thanks.

So, how do I get rid of the kill.reg thing? I need to keep my firewall up 24/7.

Ok. I will try the Mcafee thingy.

1st thing is to run the stinger software.

then you want to delete everything you can in the c:\windows\temp directory. Some files you may not be able to delete because windows may be using them.

Restart your computer

Then you need to run msconfig
Start>Run>msconfig

Go to the startup tab

uncheck anything that has kill.reg in it.

This may or may not fix your issues. If it does, great. If it doesn't then it is a step in the right direction to fix the problem.
