[SOLVED] ADVAPI32.DLL error

Hello i'm having a issue with the ADVAPI32.DLL when starting various programs a popup window appears that says the "program".exe file is linked to missing export ADVAPI32.DLL:convertstringsecuritydescriptortosecuritydescriptorw. I do not know what this means or what could have caused it but it has prevented many tasks from being completed and is preventing me from starting many programs.If anyone can help please reply.

As the file concerned is part of Halo 2 read this post about it. It will only run on Vista (not 98/ME or XP).

well this has nothing to do with halo :P but obviously my pc is using this DLL for something because anytime I go to replace or remove this file it gives an error that windows is currently running and using the DLL so I must disagree with you on what operating system it runs on because my lame windows ME is very well using it and many programs are for some reason trying to access it.So further goes my curious adventure about the lone ADVAPI32.DLL

Time for you to replace the ADVAPI32.DLL Its most likely corrupt by now
