Re: Help me in DOS Program
The error message suggests checking the Files setting in config.sys. What they don't say is that you probably just need to increase it.
Open config.sys in Notepad (if running Windows) or Edit from the DOS Prompt (type Edit C:\config.sys). Find the Files= line and increase the number. If it's Files=50 change it to Files=75 for example. Save the change, reboot, and see if that makes a difference.

Re: Help me in DOS Program
You'll also encounter strange errors like this if you have too much memory!
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/184447 says you'll get "insufficient memory" error messages if you have 1GB or more! |

Re: Help me in DOS Program
This is what i solved this problem.
There are some DOS programs which requires some windows config settings to be changed for them to work properly. Mostly old computers have Windows 98 or Windows ME which by default used config.sys to read these settings. But the version of Windows released after Windows ME did not had config.sys file. What we are actually doing is locating different windows config files in different OS. Suppose if you to change the below setting in the windows config file, below are the different locations & different file names for different Operating Systems: For windows 98, ME cd\windows edit config.sys For Windows 2000, XP, Vista cd\windows\system32 edit config.nt Change the files setting to above 50. Then, i solved the problem already. Thanks for those who help me. |
