Downloading music to mp3 player using windows me

I have a Hip Street Mp3 Player and would like to put some new songs on it. The CD drive says there isn't a disc when there is one on there and then on Media Player it says there is no device found. I've tried updating my pc nothing.. I do have a USB port in the back of the computer. Any help here.

Re: Downloading music to mp3 player using windows me

Hi beast

Here's the FAQs page for the players --- http://www.hipstreetonline.com/faq.php

It should have come with a driver CD for Win98se, if that is the version of Windows you are running. WinMe/2000/XP/Vista require no special drivers.

If you have Windows 98 original, you might have trouble getting it to work at all. In that case, you may need to transfer the music using a different (newer) PC.

Best of luck
. . . Gary

[late note ... Heaven's sakes, I see you mention you are using WinMe in your thread's title ... sorry (I'm a bit tired). WinMe theoretically should have detected your device (as a "Mass Storage Device"). Since it's not being recognized, try a different USB port, especially one that's not usually used for the keyboard or mouse. If your PC has a USB port in the front, try that]
