Pin AVG upgrade

I keep getting a notice that my free version of 7.5 AVG has been replaced with version 8.5.but when I try to install 8.5 I get the message that it can't be installed on my Windows ME. Is there some way for me to install the free version of 8.5?

Re: AVG upgrade

What happens when you attempt to uninstall? If it doesn't work, it will be sort of complicated. To manually uninstall a program you have to seek out all files and registry entries it has created and delete them. This being an antivirus program, it will be difficult because they're made to continue running and not be killed. If you have the setup file or can find it online, you could reinstall that version then uninstall.
