VDU won't display
Hi
I have a really old desktop made by Tiny it runs windows 98. I recently decided to reformat it but half way through i had my exams and stopped, i have now decided to carry on however i can't get the desktop to display on the vdu, whenever i plug the vga in the light on the vdu turns from green to amber, it sounds like it runs ok but doesn't display a single thing. The vdu is working ok because it works for my laptop. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Al |

Re: VDU won't display
First of all let me make sure I understand you, VDU = the monitor correct?
If that is the case then it is no surprise your desktop will not display. You cannot get half way through a format and expect your PC to operate normally. I recommend formatting the entire drive, without stopping it half way through, then reinstall Windows.

Re: VDU won't display
So you don't get any video at all, even a POST (power on self test)?

Re: VDU won't display
nope, i get absolutely nothing on my screen, as soon as i plug the cable in (for the screen) the screen turns black and the power light on the screen turns from green to amber. It stays like that until i remove the cable. Also this happens even if the power cable is not plugged into the computer.
Thanks Al |
