[SOLVED] Grainy icons on desktop
Hi all.. Hope someone can help.. Occasionally (especially when it is colder) my computer requires several attempts to get going.. after the first failure it tries to go to "Safe mode" unless an alternative type of starting is selected.
Recently, whilst in Safe mode a message popped up that i couldn't make sense of, and when i finally got going i found that my icons on the desktop were larger and grainy ..identical in appearance to those in safe mode !! Looking through my folders i notice it has affected everthing that i have stored on my computer.. everythings grainy !! Is it possible to retrieve that error message?.. either way I hope that someone can help Thank's in advance. Kenny09 |

Re: Grainy icons on desktop
Right-click on your desktop and pick properties. Under the settings tab, what's the color depth (16 colors? 256 colors? 16-bit or higher? - you want the highest you can get).
If for some reason it doesn't let you set a higher resolution or color depth, the drivers for your video card might be broken. What model and make is your computer? Or what make and model is the graphics card? You could redownload and re-install the drivers to try to fix it. |
