Does ME support extended desktop, and if no, is there a way of adding this feature?

Re: Extended Desktop on ME
I think multiple monitor support was added to Windows since Windows 98. I don't know if this entailed just mirroring the desktop, or if you could also use extended desktop. I think the way to find out is to try it.

Re: Extended Desktop on ME
Hi all
Check in the advanced settings areas of your graphics driver. For video cards that are dual-monitor capable, both ATi and nVidia have been providing both extended desktops and virtual desktops for a while now (though I've yet to try the features myself). I've heard of difficulties with differing versions of drivers as far as the screen resolutions supported - this can complicate the extended desktop features of the drivers. Even though there can be difficulties, I've seen threads that mention succesful extended desktops using an ATi card in Windows Me. Try the support website for your video card's vendor for more information. Best of luck . . . Gary

Re: Extended Desktop on ME
Hi Falcon (and Gary)
As usual Gary is 100% correct. I have several Matrox Millennium G450 Dual Head Video Boards. The standard driver for that board does indeed have the ability to do what you want. Good Luck, Jim |
