W98/WME Compatibility not stated but EXISTS

How many times do we get this now? I wanted one of the latest Saitek keyboards but they state it was only compatible with Windows XP or later. It turned out, though, not to be the case:

Query to Saitek:
'Are the Slimline & Eclipse II keyboards compatible with earlier Windows versions, such as W2k, WME and W98se? I have an original Eclipse which worked on W95 and WNT workstations, even tho you state it is only for WXP, WXP64 and WVista.'

Answer from Saitek:
'The Eclipse II uses the same generic Windows drivers that the original eclipse does. Therefore if your older operating systems contain these drivers the Eclipse II will work on them.'

How many suppliers do you know who are shutting W98 users out of the market like this?

I use W98 because it does most of what I need, from DVD quality TV Capture to multiple app windows processing. Certainly it has bugs and security holes and capacity shortfalls - it was developed as an open, single user OS and never pretended to be a networking vehicle or Blue-Ray home cinema. But on a fully worked-up, single user PC it is faster and more versatile and consumes less power than NT and its derivatives. There are vast quantities of cheap, good quality hardware and software available for it - as well as solutions to all its bugs and security holes - and millions of people in the world are still using it.

So in the name of Eco Friendliness and the Credit Crunch, I fired off this riposte(sic):

Response to Saitek:
'Thanks for letting me know the real compatibility of these products. Once you have revised the descriptions on your website I look forward to purchasing one of your great keyboards.'

Do you know of any other hard/software that works with W98/WME even though the vendor doesn't say it does?
